Kindness and Tears

Has a stranger ever shown you kindness when he or she sensed that you were stressed or struggling?

And at that time, you were surprised to find yourself beginning to well up with tears?

Tears will often follow an unexpected kindness. But why is that?

I think a lot of the time when someone bestows an act of kindness to you, its because you are visibly stressed or in obvious need of help. So, maybe, its more like tears of relief.

Aside from what Mallory said, it could also be tears of gratitude. You can be thankful that at least someone cares enough to actually bestow kindness.

I think everyone has an aura- a certain energy emitted depending on emotions and people can subconsciously feel this aura. so i guess they would show kindness to alleviate a negative aura

You hold all that tension within yourself because we have pride and think of our own struggle as weakness. But when that tension is broken by an act of kindness, you can no longer hold it together. You're reminded that you don't stand alone, that there is always someone there for you. Even if that someone is a person you just met.

I was actually on the other side...long ago, when I was about 14 years in a hospital, we were passing near the reception, when suddenly I saw a man receiving a notice from a doctor...The man dropped head and was about to break out and cry...I noticed that he was alone so I approached him and said "I'm sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences..." The man then turned to look me in the eye, he nodded and went to a lonely seat to mourn silently...

I think this happens because this day in age not a lot of people show that they care anymore. And to have a stranger walk up to you and show you that there are still good people left in the world it makes you realize that everything will be ok

Poor, naive children. You've created a world you hate; you cry when you're reminded what could have been. And it's all your fault; you made it this way.

For me--I like to Do something nice for someone in the hopes that maybe it would influence someone else to do something kind for another. Whenever someone Shows me kindness I'm always grateful.
