the strength of gravity may seem substantial to us;
but physicists know it to be weak -

weak in comparison to the other three fundamental forces:
strong, weak and electromagnetic

physicist Brian Greene, for example, notes that
"the weakness of gravity has confounded scientists
for decades"

he further notes that gravity is "a thousand billion,
billion, billion, billion times" weaker than the
electromagnetic force

in the video below Greene and colleagues argue
that the surprising weakness of gravity can be
explained using the multi-dimensionality constructs
of M Theory

their contention is that gravity, unlike the other
three fundamental forces, is not confined to the
membrane our universe inhabits; consequently,
it "seeps" out of our universe and into higher
dimensional space

we experience only that portion remaining, and
therefore only a portion of gravity's true strength
