The Lure of Unification

in the video below, three physicists discuss
Unification Theory, which Brian Greene defines as,

"the formulation of a law that describes everything
in the known universe from one single idea, one
master equation"

Greene notes that Albert Einstein spent his last years
"relentlessly . . . furiously" pursuing Unification; and he
adds that today, thousands of scientists "on the cutting
edge of physics" are still on the hunt

Unification is often referred to as "the Holy Grail
of physics"

although most of us can't really grasp what Greene
and his colleagues are pursuing,

when watching them in the video below, we can
recognize and admire how they pursue it - with
intensity, persistence and hope
