On January 6, 2007, Mr. Frank Costanza, of
Queens, New York addressed a joint session
of The United States Congress.
Mr. Costanza is the creator of
Festivus, a non-
denominational, non-commercial, non-sentimental
alternative to Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
In his passioned address, Costanza extolled the
virtues of
Festivus and argued for its annual
observance as a uniquely American non-holiday.
Below are excerpts from this memorable moment
in American History.
