sometimes the manner in which a statement is
delivered obscures its meaning

for example, a speaker might be so angry that
the overwhelmed listener perceives nothing but
the anger

this is often the case for me, when i watch the
angry talking heads on CNN or FOX NEWS

take CCN's Jack Cafferty; his self-admitted "outrage"
assaults my senses and blinds me to his message;

and in my traumatized state, all i experience are
flashbacks of the "grumpy old man" character
